basil bouquet

Over a week ago I went to the farmers market and grabbed a bunch of basil for $1. The plan was to use about 10 leaves for frittatas and then hand it over to Cora, who I knew would come up with something good to do with basil. As I pulled the huge bunch apart I caught sight of some flowers. Who knew that basil has such pretty little white flowers? I quickly pulled down a vase, splashed in some H2O, and haphazardly arranged a few sprigs. Today, a week and a half later the sprigs are starting to root! Is it possible that I've not only invenitated the basil bouquet, but also a new way of keeping basil fresh longer?

Best $1 ever spent!

And yes, invenitated is a word.
